Frontier Church embraces the spiritual leadership of a plurality of elders. Elders serve the Lord Jesus Christ (the Good Shepherd) by providing his local flocks with spiritual oversight (1 Peter 5:1-4). As under-shepherds caring for the Good Shepherd’s sheep, elders:
Feed the flock through sound teaching and preaching (1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:9)
Guard the flock by watching out for doctrinal harm and correcting heresy (Acts 20:28-31)
Nurture the flock, seeking growth in the knowledge and grace of God and equipping the saints for the work of the church (2 Peter 3:18; Ephesians 4:11-16)
Lead the flock by imitating Christ in word and deed (1 Corinthians 11:1; Hebrews 13:7; 13:17)
Pray for the physical needs and spiritual maturity of the flock (Acts 6:4; James 5:14)
Frontier’s elder team is made up of the Pastor/Lead Elder and gifted men in the church who are called to the ministry of elder. Listed below are the current elders serving the church, and how you may be able to reach them:
Deacons are called to live godly lives as servants of Jesus Christ and as examples to the Church, keeping in mind the standards set forth in Scripture (1 Timothy 3:8-13). The role of deacons in the church is that of servant: they are called to attend to the needs of the church in a variety of ways so that the elders may be freed to shepherd the flock through prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:3-4). The deacons of Frontier Church eagerly seek to know the needs of the congregation as well as the community, and look for ways that the church can meet people at the point of their need. If you have a current need, or know of a need in the church or in the community that Frontier might be able to help with, be sure to get in touch with the deacons of the church! At this time Frontier is blessed with four deacons:
